It was almost seven in the evening, the school day had been over for many hours, and Nina had found time to fit in a good movie of which she loved, called 'The Bodyguard' with Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, it was a fantastic movie, and a few of the songs from it, were wondering around in her mind right now, which she had been humming whilst plaiting her long honey blonde-brown hair, she usually had them in big curls but today after her quick shower after classes, the junior had decided to plait the hair whilst it dried naturally, her boredom was becoming deeply unbearable, sat in her dorm by herself or having to lounge around the cafeteria with her friend for a moment, so she had decided to hang out in the common room and find something to do, they had game consoles and all sorts, which would be better then doing something like homework, right?
She wore a white camisole, and had a black cropped caridgan over it, to keep her arms warm, she loved cropped cardigans and shrugs, that only ran down to the bottom of her boobs, they were fantastic for wearing summer dresses in the colder days. She had a pair of jeans hugging her bottom half, a black belt snaked through the loops on the waist and a silver belt buckle, and a pair of silver metallic flat pumps on her feet, matching the silver earrings and necklace she wore, the necklace was something she favoured, a skull and pirate crossbones, given to her by her older sister.
She had been sat in the common room for about five minutes, her hands busy on the game console as she sat on the couch, facing the TV, giving out little moans or cries of joy when she either lost or won at a level.

Brooke stepped into the common room, her drawing pad in hand. Her long, baggy camo pajama bottoms and her black long-sleeved shirt conceled her lean frame. Her long blonde hair was pulled loosly back into a braid, going almost all the way down to the small of her back. Making sure she had her key on the bracelet she constantly had on, even if she didn't feel like wearing it. Moving like a ghost into the common room, she noticed that she was not alone. Oh, uh, hello. Her voice was soft, but she leveled it adequetly to reach the ears of the other girl. She nodded slightly and made her way over to one of the small couches against the wall, flicking on the lamp.
Looking down at the paper, she tried to think of something to draw, she knew that the only picture she knew by heart was the one of her lying unconcious on the floor, covered in bruises and blood, her flute grasped firmly in her hand. Shaking her head softly, she looked down at the blank page and then back up. The girl she'd noticed was playing some sort of video game, but wasn't moving often. Picking up her pencil, Brooke let it flow like water over the page, slowly, lines began to appear. The outline of the girl sitting on the couch, in front of the TV was still unrecognizable, but still there. Glancing up ever so often when Brooke would hear a noise come from the video game girl, she would capture some new detail on the page.
The main part of the drawing was beginning to form, you could tell that it was somebody sitting on a couch watching TV, but Brooke was no where near done. She had some of her art displayed all over the place, at her former school was the picture of her the night that she'd almost died, the principal had begged for a copy of the only thing she'd drawn while she'd been in the hospital, they needed some art for a memorial they were doing for a child abuse corner of the office, her picture was on that board now. Shaking her head gently, Brooke kept drawing, she often drew things that she saw, sometimes of a frisby game that the guys were playing, or sometimes of a teacher grading papers, all of those drawings eventually landed on the desk or in the locker of the subject. Brooke grew emersed in the art, her hand touching the page ever so lightly, leaving faint and dark lines in different areas, her hair had begun to form, but it was still a long way from being done.

Whilst the next level loaded, Nina played with her hair, the un-plaited parts where the hair band had been placed to secure the braids, she was gently toying with it in her fingers, whilst balancing the controller on her lap, before picking it up, as the loading period came to an end. "Come on you little son of a bitch.." Nina cooed, leaning forward and pushing her fingers hard and quick onto the controls, turning the device in her hands, even though it wouldn't make her character move, it was something she had always done, playing driving games especially, she would turn the control pad as if the car would turn with it, even though she knew it wouldn't, she couldn't not do it!
Hearing someone come in, she didn't turn to look, not out of rudeness but because if she took her concentration off for a second, she would completely loose this level and have to start it all over again. But when the girl who had just arrived spoke briefly, Nina abandoned all hope of moving up on the game, and tilted her head back, so she was looking upside down and the blonde beauty who had just passed by "Hello!" she cooed quickly, before tossing her head back up and giving a maniacal giggle as she hadn't missed much in those few seconds, and regained her place, wiggling her body gently in triumph - though she hadn't won yet, she hadn't screwed up, which was a big bonus. "Yeahh, you want to mess with The Neen?" she scoffed, like the game could hear her. Bless her, she was kind of special, wasn't she. Nina wasn't the slightest a bit aware that she was being used as a model for art, she hadn't been able to look back at the girl just yet, not unless she needed to pause the game for the bathroom or a drink. Plus the girl was silent, so Nina suspected she was here to chill, she didn't know, she was too busy trying to kill some mutant monster, you know? But you could easily ask her to be your model, she'd probably ask if she needed to be naked, or if you wanted her to look naughty and overly nice. Or a bit of both, she was quite flexible in her facial expressions really. In fact, quite flexible in general. She could pretty much pose at the drop of a hat and you could tell her any way you wanted her to be, she was a ballet dancer, so you could have elegant and classy or porn queen.
Whilst playing the game, she had began to hum a tune, an Avenged Sevenfold song called Scream, mouthing the words and trying not to sing them outloud, those big amber brown eyes not able to peel themselves from the screen, she let out a little yelp as something attacked her character which had surprised her.

Brooke set her pencil down when the led finally broke off. Muttering to herself, she crossed the room to the tiny kitchen. Please say they have a real knife in here... She didn't have a pencil sharpener anymore. Setting the notebook beside her, she dug around in the drawer. Sifting through everything they had in the drawer, she pulled out some of the most random things; a Bush bobblehead, a diper, two books, a fake dubloon, a tiny drum, a fork... Rolling her eyes, she closed the drawer and moved to the next one, even more random crap; a memory chip, a vile of something, a bag labled 'Frank's Snowball, DO NOT TOUCH', a pen. Muttering to herself, she glanced over her shoulder when she heard the girl say something. I wasn- It took her a moment to realize that she wasn't talking to her, simply to the TV.
Looking back to the search for a knife, she moved onto another drawer. The same; a soap carving of George Washington, a MCR CD, nail polish remover, no lid. , tape, a picture of a dog with a memorial script on the back, the body of a Lava Lamp, and some glue. She reached all the way to the back, thinking that mabey there was something back there. She felt cold metal, a knife blade? She was moving her hand along the blade to find the hild when she heard a scream. Instinctivly, Brooke's hand tightened, right around the blade. DAMN IT! She hissed, yanking her hand out of the drawer. A long scratch ran along her palm, blood slowly revealing itself.
Cursing under her breath, she looked around the kitchenette for a sink or a rag. A tiny rag was sitting on the other side, bitting her lip, she closed her hand, just to hear her make a squeak of pain. Releasing her hand, she looked back down at her hand. The blood covered her pail skin, that was all it took her to feel dizzy. This isn't gonna b- She crumpled to the ground. Yes, Brooke fainted at the sight of blood, ironic.

Nina wasn't really paying any attention to the movement going on behind her, she was too engrossed in the game and also, it was none of her business, she would look like a nosey bitch if she was watching the girls every movement, it didn't matter to Nina if she was in the kitchenette fixing herself a sandwich or something, was it? She carried on, perfectly happy as she continued to the next level, letting out a little squeal of excitement since she had never gotten this far before. Nina wondered though, what the blonde haired girl was doing, or at least what was she looking for, maybe Nina could help her out, she was searching the drawers, Nina could hear them open, the contents rolling around inside. So whilst whacking some monster with her sword she glanced quickly in her direction, then back at the screen, getting ready to pause because the girl had just calld out, quite loudly too. Nina searched the control pad quickly to find the pause button, looking around once more, but the girl had vanished, so she forgot about finding the pause button and tossed the control aside, got to her feet quickly and rushed over, letting out a little squeal, she was on the floor, apprantly passed out.
"Oh my god!" she said loudly, fanning her hands in a panic, not knowing what to do, so she dropped to her knees and pressed the palm of her hand against the girls cheek, seeing fi she was hot or cold, she didn't really know, so she got up and took the rag from nearby that she must have found for the bleeding wound and she wet it and placed it on the girls forehead, fanning her dow nand flicking water into her face
"Hello, can you hear me? Oh god please don't die! Can you hear me, hello?" she said, rambling on with pretty much the same things, and propped her up on the handtowel that was hanging off a small bar on the wall, using it as a makeshift pillow she sat on her knees by the girls side, shaking her hand to try and make her come back to reality "Do you want me to call 911?" she asked frantically. Nina in an emergency was never good!

Brooke saw stars dancing in front of her eyes, the little dots turned into spirals and then just random shapes. She felt herself open her eyes, but the darkness remained. Crap, am I blind? She thought to herself. Blinking a few times, she watched the darkness disappear and was replaced with the face of the girl who'd been playing videogames. She was laying on the floor, she knew that much, but she couldn't tell why. Then she saw the small puddle of blood on the linolium ground and felt another wave of dizziness. She heard the girl questioning her frantically, but she couldn't bring herself to say anything.
She remained still for a moment and then spoke. I'm fine. She paused to cough for a moment, covering her mouth with her non-injured hand. I just pass out at the sight of blood. She tried to prop herself up on her elbow, but fell back against the linolium, hard. Fainting spells always left her a bit worn out, she wasn't all that sure why, but they did. Pressing her face against the cold floor, she felt her flooded head cool off a bit, it felt better to lay against the floor than some hospital bed, that, and they'd ask about the scars. Looking back up at the videogame girl, she smilled a little. I'm Brooke, by the way. She would have held out her hand, except for the fact that it was covered in blood. She tried to laugh a little, but it didn't work too well, it made her feel dizzy again.
Looking around the kitchenette, she spotted a glass and a first aid kit. Would you mind doing one thing for me real fast? She paused, rubbing her head and trying to pull herself into a sitting position. Would you mind putting a little water in that glass and handing me the first aid kit? She wouldn't mind if the girl refused, but she needed to stop the bleeding in her hand, and get some water. Looking down at the ground, she blocked out the sight of the small droplets of blood next to her hand, and focused on the generic pattern of the floor. It was common for her to pass out at the sight of blood, even if it wasn't her own. A side effect of staying in the ICU at the hospital in Seattle, you saw a lot of blood. Without even thinking about the scars, she rolled her shirt sleeves up to her elbow, to allow her to cool off easier.
Sorry if there are any added letters, my index finger and my middle finger are taped together.[/size]

Furiously pushing part of her bangs out of her face so she could see and not accidently eat her hair whilst she spoke, Nina wriggled her feet out of her silver pumps and kicked them aside, staying on her knees beside the girl as she came around, Nina's concerned face staring down at her whilst she spoke.
"Oh.. oh! okay, yeah my sister does that, except she kind of squeals first. then she faints so we know it's going to happen" Nina said quickly, knowing this was completely useless information. She moved away from the girl slightly so she wasn't crowding around her and smiled brightly, like she was proud of her white knashers. "I'm Nina. Nurse Nina!" she said in an impressed and girly tone, clicking her finger and thumb together, she liked the sound of that, she went to a party two weeks ago dressed as a nurse too. "Are you sure you're okay?" she asked, just as Brooke spoke once more, and Nina practically sprung to her feet, and dashed across the slidey floor, wheee.
"What did you do to your hand?" she asked whilst turning the tap and holding the glass under it, collecting a reasonable amount of water as quick as she could and held it carefully whilst retrieving the first aid kit and coming back to where she had been stationed before, slowly putting the glass down, her hand was trembling from the adrenline of not knowing what to do when someone passed out. "Here, is this okay?" she asked, holding the box out to her, and the glass was on the ground, she didn't know why she asked if it was okay, it was what she asked for, of course it was okay!

Brooke laughed inside when she saw the girl kick off her shoes, they didn't look at all comfortable, but then again, Brooke simply wore converse, tennis shoes, and no shoes. It suited her. It seemed like all Brooke had to do was nod ever so often, Nina sure liked to talk...but that was fine with Brooke, it saved her from having to say much. Pleasure to meet you, Nina. Her voice was soft, hardly audible, but it was there. She was sitting up now, resting her head on her knees, her grey-green eyes just watching.
Nodding simply, she murmered a quiet thanks when Nina brought her a cup of water and the first-aid kit. Picking the glass up, she took a small sip, feeling her head begin to clear almost instantly. Setting it down beside her, she moved the first-aid kit closer to her side, fumbling with the latch, she opened it. She spotted the gauze almost instantly, fishing it out with her non-injured hand, she set it in her lap. Looking up when she heard Nina speak again. Oh, uh, this is going to sound really stupid, but I don't have a pencil sharpener so I went looking for a knife. Well, I saw one at the back of the drawer and then I heard something - She decided to leave out that what she'd heard was Nina's scream - And subconciously, my hand clenched, right around the blade... She sighed and began wrapping her hand in the guaze, flinching whenever it would hit a tender spot. She couldn't help but laugh a little when she saw her notebook sitting perched on the counter, I have no clue how I can draw almost every day and not have a damn pencil sharpener. She shook her head a little and looked down at her hand, the guaze was wrapped around the gash, and tucked in on itself.

No one had ever really said that to Nina before, so she felt kind of pleased when Brooke said it and smiled brightly, like always with her big, grin and at times creepy grin. Sometimes people would wonder if her face was stuck like that. Or maybe she worked as a creepy circus clown by night. You never know. "Same to you!" she said eagerly. and then quietly became subdued, Brooke had just fainted, Nina didn't want to freak her out, so she moved back a little and tried to not be annoying with talking overly enthusiastically, or smiling like a freak too much. But that never worked out, it was how Nina was.
She sat on her bum now, her legs to the side and she listened as Brooke explained what happened to her, and Nina pulled a face, somewhat disgusted and apathetic. "That just sucks, do you need someone to look at it or do you think it will be okay?" she asked, peering slightly at her hand. "If it starts to go green or smell funny, I'm thinking you should get it seen" she said, her forehead wrinkled as she nodded her head gently, wrinkling her nose too. "So don't let it get like that!" she added, playing with her braids "Maybe you just forgot it? Or maybe I know what you need for next year when school comes back in 2008" she smiled. Nina would get one for her if need be!
